These research findings show we need more scientific study to really understand the health impact of #microplastics on humans, animals and fish, and also its impact on plant life, and there is also an urgent need for regulators to act to raise public awareness of the sources of #microplastic #pollution, including #paint! Over to you #eucommission! And remember #PaintIsPlastic A new study has shown how microplastics can infiltrate the blood-brain barrier of mice. The research team conducted an experiment in which MPs of 2 micrometers or less in size were administered orally to mice for 7 days to elucidate the hazards of microplastics. They discovered that nano-plastics with the size of 2 micrometers or less even passed through the blood-brain barrier that prevents the brain uptake of hazardous substances.
