Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) has recently published two excellent articles (by journalist Bård Siem) with pretty scary titles:
◼ "Load Bearing Capacity on 1,000 Norwegian Bridges Threatened" https://lnkd.in/d2FiQXqe ◼ "5,600 Bridges have Damage that Reduces Traffic Safety" https://lnkd.in/dSUsx4wu (If you cannot read Norwegian and don’t have time to do Google Translate, don't worry, the photographs tell the story!) The bottom line here is that insufficient and/or inadequate maintenance of bridges across Norway is creating potentially life threatening risks for road users - both 🚶♀️ pedestrians and 🚙 vehicles. On top of that, the uncontrolled corrosion means paint residuals and rust are allowed fall into the waters under the bridges, causing Paint Microplastic Pollution. So, in addition to the risks identified by the NRK journalist, we can add an important environmental risk. There is a solution to this problem, and it is to be found in Bergen, Norway. By combining Pinovo’s patented clean blasting technology with Rope Access, as used by the contractor, KTV Group AS, you can undertake continuous maintenance on bridges, with no scaffolding, sheeting or cleaning up. The end result - safer bridges, and zero Paint Microplastic Emissions to the Ocean! And it takes less time and less cost to do the work!

Congratulations to Morten Urrang at Remotion AS and Arild Apelthun and Toni Suomäki at Beerenberg for completing this transaction. Great to see that Beerenberg, which was already a leader on sustainability, is now "all in" on robotisation. Pinovo looks forward to continue partnering with Remotion, under its new ownership, to use our clean blasting technology in new robotic solutions!
