We’re proud to be working on REV Ocean — set to become the world’s most advanced research and exploration vessel — with our Clean Blasting Technology, and having it proven in this very demanding environment.

Using a combination of our in-house developed and patented front-end tools — the PiHab Flat, and PiConnect (with flat, angled, edge, and corner adapters) — we are successfully working across a range of challenging work scopes.

A big thank you to our Benelux Distributor, Perspect Benelux/ATEX-tools, for their outstanding execution on this project. 👏

Also great to be collaborating with the top class teams at Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen bv, and Den Breejen Industrial Supplies bv.

We look forward to bringing our technology to many more Superyachts! 🚢✨

REV OCEAN POST

At REV Ocean, protecting ocean health starts even before our vessel enters the water. Throughout the construction, we have been committed to reducing our environmental footprint where possible and supporting technologies that safeguard the ocean.

That’s why we are working with Bergen-based Pinovo AS, supported by their distributor, Perspect Benelux during the vessel’s outfitting at the Damen Shipyard in the Netherlands. Pinovo’s Clean Blasting Technology prevents paint microplastic emissions at the source, protecting the ocean while also improving working conditions for operators. The system is dust-free, low-noise, vibration-free, and safer for those using it. Clean blasting also proves more cost-effective than traditional open grit blasting for spot work.

Solutions like these reflect exactly what REV Ocean is all about: combining innovation, sustainability, and collaboration to drive change for the ocean.

pinovo's clean blasting technology being used in many unexpected places!

After an 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, in what other unexpected place could Pinovo’s Clean Blasting technology possibly be used?

Well, we now have the answer… 𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘆! 🍺

Our Benelux distributor, Perspect Benelux/ATEX-tools, recently completed a project blasting the inside of brewing tanks — 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆.

Once again, Pinovo proves that our technology delivers both 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 and 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀, even in the most unexpected places.

Curious about where Clean Blasting could make a difference for you? 👉 Why not get in touch with us?!

INC- 5-2 in Geneva ends without an effective global plastics treaty

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱.... 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱..... 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱..... 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁.....

Some of the reactions after - Three years of negotiations. Two intense weeks in Geneva. Twenty-four hours without sleep. And still — no effective global treaty to stop plastic pollution.

The disappointment is real, but hope springs eternal! The last two weeks revealed positives and learnings that will hopefully carry us forward towards an ambitious, legally binding UN Plastics Treaty:

𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The coalition of ambitious countries refused to accept a watered-down text that would have no real impact.

𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: Delegations clearly heard the strong messages from Business For A Plastics Treaty on the economic benefits of globally harmonised regulations.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: The Lancet Group Countdown on Health and Plastics confirmed plastics are “a grave, growing, and under-recognised danger to human and planetary health” (https://lnkd.in/eKGP7y77). This will strengthen public opinion — and public opinion drives political will to take action.

𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀: The Minderoo Foundation, led by Prof. Sarah Dunlop, launched the PlasticHealthAware Dashboard, showing "Evidence on plastic chemicals shows previously invisible, unrecognized harms to human health - Children are especially vulnerable.". This will inform public and political debate.

𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: ARTE’s new excellent "Homo Plasticus" documentary (https://lnkd.in/eSUQv7r5) showed the all-pervasive nature of microplastics, scientific evidence of their health risks, and the fact that paint is one of the largest sources.

The question now is how we secure the treaty the majority of delegations clearly want — whether through INC-5.3, INC-6, or "new paths", whatever they are!

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻: We must keep pushing for a strong, enforceable, and truly effective global agreement to end plastic pollution. Anything less is a betrayal of the planet and future generations.

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗲.

and they're off!

The race is on to tackle Plastic Pollution — and the next two weeks really matter.

The final (hopefully!) round of UN Plastics Treaty negotiations (INC-5.2) is starting in Geneva right now, and the world is watching. Big decisions will be made that will shape the future of how we deal with Plastic Pollution.

Yesterday, in preparation for these negotiations, the Global Plastic Action Partnership brought together voices from government, business, civil society, and beyond for #SolutionsDay at the World Economic Forum — all focused on sharing real, scalable solutions across the plastics value chain.

Pinovo was excited to take part, shining a light on the important issue of Paint Microplastic Pollution (#PaintIsPlastic) — and sharing our Solution to this problem.

We also had the chance to meet the amazing artist and activist Benjamin Von Wong, who’s using his creativity to make a powerful statement. His new installation, “The Thinker’s Burden”, is now standing outside the Palais des Nations — and it’s slowly “drowning” in plastic over the course of the negotiations to show just how urgent this issue is. Check it out if you are in Geneva!
