The race is on to tackle Plastic Pollution — and the next two weeks really matter.
The final (hopefully!) round of UN Plastics Treaty negotiations (INC-5.2) is starting in Geneva right now, and the world is watching. Big decisions will be made that will shape the future of how we deal with Plastic Pollution. Yesterday, in preparation for these negotiations, the Global Plastic Action Partnership brought together voices from government, business, civil society, and beyond for #SolutionsDay at the World Economic Forum — all focused on sharing real, scalable solutions across the plastics value chain. Pinovo was excited to take part, shining a light on the important issue of Paint Microplastic Pollution (#PaintIsPlastic) — and sharing our Solution to this problem. We also had the chance to meet the amazing artist and activist Benjamin Von Wong, who’s using his creativity to make a powerful statement. His new installation, “The Thinker’s Burden”, is now standing outside the Palais des Nations — and it’s slowly “drowning” in plastic over the course of the negotiations to show just how urgent this issue is. Check it out if you are in Geneva!
